KINGHAVEN TREATMENT CENTRE

Kinghaven is a 53 beds, 70-day intensive residential treatment program dealing with problematic substance use issues for adult men 19+. This program follows a Harm Reduction addiction treatment model. It involves four phases: Orientation, Program Development, Group Therapy, and Transitional and Aftercare Planning. Throughout the program, clients have the opportunity to participate in education sessions on keys to recovery, emotional regulation, living your values, stress management, grief and loss, communication, models of healing, spirituality, trauma and recovery, overcoming stigma, mental health, creativity, as well as family dynamics. They will participate in therapeutic house duties; complete tracking sheets that monitor their participation in several aspects of our program, including group, what they learned each day, daily exercise, daily centring practices, change plan goals and positive emotional practices. They can attend in-house AA meetings, SMART Recovery meetings, and Focus Groups on Self-Esteem, Co-Dependency, Art Therapy and Relapse Prevention/Aftercare Planning.

Most importantly, all clients can create a Transitional and Aftercare Plan, which, if they choose to follow it, will support them in developing a productive life free of substance use.

All new clients must be 3-5 days clean and sober on arrival, and they need to postpone any medical, dental, legal or other appointments until after treatment.

Clients will be randomly screened for substance use during their engagement in our programs.
