WESTOVER TREATMENT CENTRE

Westover Treatment Centre is accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation. It offers several programs for those affected by the disease of addiction. Westover has twenty-four beds funded by the Ministry of Health for the Substance Use Disorder program, six for the Co-Dependency program and eight funded beds for the Stage Two Recovery and Relapse Prevention program. Treatment is followed by the Recovery Support program, which provides weekly classes for 26 weeks following the residential program and is offered in twelve different communities. In all residential programs, a few additional beds are available on a private pay basis, with a much shorter waitlist. Westover also offers a weekend family program available to family and friends of clients in residence upon the client’s invitation for them to attend.

Westover’s programs are educational, with daily classroom work and individual counselling. Included are classes on the disease of addiction, 12-step recovery, understanding behaviours, setting boundaries, anger management and avoiding relapse, amongst many other topics. Services offered include the above residential programs, Recovery Support and a 24/7 Addiction Assistance telephone line answered by a certified counsellor. Westover does not provide a withdrawal management program.
